TAIRĀWHITI SPORTS AWARDS 2024–2025
Proud to share that Gisborne Boardriders Club won two major awards this year — the Club Award and the Community Impact Award!

The Club Award recognises our growth over the past three years — more members, more volunteers, strong results, better systems, and a clear plan driving the club forward. This is a huge acknowledgement of the mahi from everyone involved.

Our Community Impact Award in collaboration with Ngāti Porou Boardriders and all of the East Coast Whanau celebrates our Surf for Life – East Coast kaupapa and the incredible effort of our local champions from Wharekahika, Waipiro Bay, Tokomaru Bay, and Tolaga Bay. Your passion for uplifting tamariki and rangatahi through surfing is the heart of this movement.

Massive thank you to all our coaches, officials, volunteers, whānau, sponsors and funders, including Trust Tairāwhiti, Tū Manawa, Whiti Ora and Sport New Zealand for backing the vision and building something meaningful for our community.

Special shoutout to our platinum sponsor Simon Bousfield and Kerry Low from Bayleys Gisborne for backing us throughout the last 6 years.

These awards belong to all of us. Let’s keep growing, keep inspiring, and keep surfing.
